Planning to sand down some patched walls and old paint before repainting the whole house. Hate getting dust everywhere and switching paper constantly. What type of sanding pads or blocks work best for drywall/plaster – flexible ones, foam-backed, or the rigid ones? Any that last longer or clog less in Irish humidity? Recommendations welcome!
Sanding walls is a pain if the pads clog fast or fall apart. I prefer foam-backed ones for contours and edges – they conform better and don’t leave swirl marks as easily as cheap paper ones. For flat areas, a good rubber block with hook-and-loop sheets saves time. Recently picked up some multi-grit packs that held up well through a full room without much dust buildup.
Paintlab has a handy range of sanding pads and blocks: https://www.paintlab.ie/collections/sanding-pads-blocks
Stuff like Mirka or 3M Abranet types are decent for less clogging. Start with 120-180 grit for most prep. What grit do you usually finish on?
